The Hobbit is a 2003 platform/action-adventure video game developed by Inevitable Entertainment for the GameCube, PlayStation 2 and Xbox, by The Fizz Factor for Microsoft Windows and by Saffire for the Game Boy Advance. It was published on all platforms by Sierra Entertainment. The game was released in North America on all platforms on November 11, 2003. In Europe, it was released for the GameBoy Advance on October 24 and for all other systems on November 11. The game is an official licensed adaptation of J. R. R. Tolkien's 1937 novel, The Hobbit, and it has no relationship with the Peter Jackson-directed Lord of the Rings film trilogy, released in cinemas in 2001, 2002 and 2003. The game sticks very closely to the plot of the novel, although it does feature some minor characters not found in Tolkien's original. It received generally mixed reviews across all systems, with critics praising its fidelity to the source material, but finding the gameplay too derivative of the games in The Legend of Zelda series. |
There are two components for playing a gba The Hobbit rom on your PC. The first component is the emulation program which can imitate the gba OS and software.
The second component is the The Hobbit rom itself to play on the emulator.
Step 1: you can start by downloading a reliable and bug free emulator. We’d suggest VBA-M – it’s open source, fast and one of the most frequently updated.
Once you have finished downloading VBA-M, extract the downloaded .zip file to a location, for example your Desktop. After, double click the visualboyadvance-m.exe file in order to start the emulator.
Your emulator will now be ready to play The Hobbit rom. But now you’ll need to find the correct ROMs online. A ROM is essentially a virtual version of the game that needs to be loaded into the emulator.
Step 2: return to Visualboyadvance-m and hit File > Open. Navigate to the downloaded .zip file and double click it to open it. The game will now run on the emulator and you can play the game freely.
Tip: Saving games on an emulator functions a little differently. The integrated save system will not save your progress.
Instead, you’ll need to click File > Save State and then choose an empty slot. You can save your progress in whatever point you like within the game, not only on the official checkpoints offered by the game.
When playing in the future and you want to continue from your saved state, you can use File > Load State to load up the game from exactly where you last saved it.
