South Park Rally is a kart-style racing video game, based on the American animated comedy series South Park. The game is developed by Tantalus Interactive and the last to be published by Acclaim Entertainment near the end of the third season of the show for the PlayStation in 1999, which was later ported to Microsoft Windows in 1999 for North America and in 2000 for Europe and for Nintendo 64 and Dreamcast in 2000, the game includes many characters, vehicles, locations, items and other features inspired by or featured on the series. Development work on the title – based on Tantalus' own concept – was done on three platforms simultaneously, and took seven months. South Park Rally was the third video game based on the series. Previously Acclaim has also published the games South Park and South Park: Chef's Luv Shack. South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone had little to do with the development of South Park Rally, although they did contribute a number of original lines of voice acting for it, as they do most of the voices on the show. Parker and Stone have publicly criticized Acclaim and the quality of the games.
There are two components for playing a n64 South Park Rally game on your PC. The first component is the emulation program which can imitate the n64 OS and software.
The second component is the South Park Rally game itself to play on the emulator.
Step 1: you can start by downloading a reliable and bug free emulator. We’d suggest Mupen – it’s open source, fast and one of the most frequently updated.
Once you have finished downloading Mupen, extract the downloaded .zip file to a location, for example your Desktop. After, double click the mupen64.exe file in order to start the emulator.
Your emulator will now be ready to play South Park Rally. But now you’ll need to find the correct ROMs online. A ROM is essentially a virtual version of the game that needs to be loaded into the emulator.
Step 2: return to Mupen and hit File > Open. Navigate to the downloaded .exe file and double click it to open it. The game will now run on the emulator and you can play the game freely.
Tip: Saving games on an emulator functions a little differently. The integrated save system will not save your progress.
Instead, you’ll need to click File > Save State and then choose an empty slot. You can save your progress in whatever point you like within the game, not only on the official checkpoints offered by the game.
When playing in the future and you want to continue from your saved state, you can use File > Load State to load up the game from exactly where you last saved it.
