Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey is a role-playing video game developed by Atlus and Lancarse for the Nintendo DS. It is a title within the Megami Tensei series of video games, and was released in Japan on October 8, 2009 and in North America on March 23, 2010. Strange Journey features dungeon crawl, first-person environments for the player to explore. Demons, the enemies encountered by the player, can be negotiated with, a staple in the Megami Tensei series, to join the protagonist's party, aiding him in combat. Players take on the role of an unnamed soldier assigned to a UN-mandated research team deployed to the South Pole to investigate an abnormal area in the region dubbed as the "Schwarzwelt". There, the protagonist discovers that the Schwarzwelt is full of demons, which can be persuaded to join him in battle. The game was first hinted in mid 2009 with the Atlus staff wishing to depict danger on a worldwide scale through this game to appeal to the audience. Critical reception to Strange Journey has been positive with praise given to the gameplay and plot although the delivery of the latter has been criticized.
There are two components for playing a ds Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey game on your PC. The first component is the emulation program which can imitate the ds OS and software.
The second component is the Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey game itself to play on the emulator.
Step 1: you can start by downloading a reliable and bug free emulator. We’d suggest NO$GBA – it’s open source, fast and one of the most frequently updated.
Once you have finished downloading NO$GBA , extract the downloaded .zip file to a location, for example your Desktop. After, double click the no$gba.exe file in order to start the emulator.
Your emulator will now be ready to play Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey. But now you’ll need to find the correct ROMs online. A ROM is essentially a virtual version of the game that needs to be loaded into the emulator.
Step 2: return to NO$GBA and hit File > Open. Navigate to the downloaded .exe file and double click it to open it. The game will now run on the emulator and you can play the game freely.
Tip: Saving games on an emulator functions a little differently. The integrated save system will not save your progress.
Instead, you’ll need to click File > Save State and then choose an empty slot. You can save your progress in whatever point you like within the game, not only on the official checkpoints offered by the game.
When playing in the future and you want to continue from your saved state, you can use File > Load State to load up the game from exactly where you last saved it.
