Description

NASCAR 2001 is a racing simulator video game developed and published by EA Sports. The game was released on September 19, 2000 for the Sony PlayStation, and became the first from EA Sports' NASCAR series to be released for the Sony PlayStation 2 on November 6, 2000. NASCAR 2001 was the fourth game in the NASCAR series. NASCAR 2001 was the final game that featured Dale Earnhardt as a regular full-time driver, prior to his death in the 2001 Daytona 500. Johnny Benson is also absent in this game, while it was the first NASCAR game to include Jimmy Spencer, Jerry Nadeau, and Elliott Sadler. The drivers Michael Waltrip, Kenny Irwin Jr., Richard Petty and Adam Petty do not participate in any of the races as a computer opponent, instead the player must be the driver.

How To Play NASCAR 2001 On PC

There are two components for playing a psx NASCAR 2001 game on your PC. The first component is the emulation program which can imitate the psx OS and software.

The second component is the NASCAR 2001 game itself to play on the emulator.

Step 1: you can start by downloading a reliable and bug free emulator. We’d suggest Retroarch – it’s open source, fast and one of the most frequently updated.

Once you have finished downloading Retroarch, extract the downloaded .zip file to a location, for example your Desktop. After, double click the RetroArch-1.7.5-x86-setup.exe file in order to start the emulator.

Your emulator will now be ready to play NASCAR 2001. But now you’ll need to find the correct ROMs online. A ROM is essentially a virtual version of the game that needs to be loaded into the emulator.

Step 2: return to Retroarch and hit File > Open. Navigate to the downloaded .exe file and double click it to open it. The game will now run on the emulator and you can play the game freely.

Tip: Saving games on an emulator functions a little differently. The integrated save system will not save your progress.
Instead, you’ll need to click File > Save State and then choose an empty slot. You can save your progress in whatever point you like within the game, not only on the official checkpoints offered by the game.

When playing in the future and you want to continue from your saved state, you can use File > Load State to load up the game from exactly where you last saved it.
