Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars is a 1996 point-and-click adventure game developed by Revolution Software. The player assumes the role of George Stobbart, an American tourist in Paris, as he attempts to unravel a conspiracy. The game takes place in both real and fictional locations in Europe and the Middle East. In 1992, Charles Cecil began researching the Knights Templar for the game after he, Noirin Carmody and Sean Brennan conceived Broken Sword. It was built with Revolution's Virtual Theatre engine. This was also used for the company's previous two games. Cecil co-wrote and directed the game, while Eoghan Cahill and Neil Breen drew the backgrounds in pencil and digitally colored them in Photoshop. The game has a serious tone, but features humor and graphics in the style of classic animated films. Critics lauded Broken Sword 's story, puzzles, voice acting, writing, gameplay, and music. The game received numerous award nominations and wins. It achieved commercial success as well, with one million copies sold by the mid-1990s. Topping several lists, it is known as one of the greatest examples of adventure gaming.
There are two components for playing a gba Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars game on your PC. The first component is the emulation program which can imitate the gba OS and software.
The second component is the Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars game itself to play on the emulator.
Step 1: you can start by downloading a reliable and bug free emulator. We’d suggest VBA-M – it’s open source, fast and one of the most frequently updated.
Once you have finished downloading VBA-M, extract the downloaded .zip file to a location, for example your Desktop. After, double click the visualboyadvance-m.exe file in order to start the emulator.
Your emulator will now be ready to play Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars. But now you’ll need to find the correct ROMs online. A ROM is essentially a virtual version of the game that needs to be loaded into the emulator.
Step 2: return to Visualboyadvance-m and hit File > Open. Navigate to the downloaded .zip file and double click it to open it. The game will now run on the emulator and you can play the game freely.
Tip: Saving games on an emulator functions a little differently. The integrated save system will not save your progress.
Instead, you’ll need to click File > Save State and then choose an empty slot. You can save your progress in whatever point you like within the game, not only on the official checkpoints offered by the game.
When playing in the future and you want to continue from your saved state, you can use File > Load State to load up the game from exactly where you last saved it.
