There are 11 episodes left to complete the story of Ash Ketchum and Pikachu in the Pokémon anime series and just now a piece of news has been released that will surely make fans happy. More specifically, the legendary protagonist has just met again with an old friend, after almost 24 years!
It was October 1998 when the episode " Bye Bye Butterfree " first played, where Ash said goodbye - forever - to the beloved Butterfree Pokémon, who left with a female to start his own family. Yes, you got it right. In yesterday's episode, which aired in Japan, Ash and Pikachu met up with the Pokémon again in an emotionally charged scene.

The excitement of the fans for this moment was great and there will likely be more such moments as we approach the final story of Ash Ketchum.
Let us remind you somewhere here that Ash's story is going to be completed in 2023 and there are 11 episodes left in Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series to do so. Then, The Pokémon Company is preparing a new show, which will take place in the Paldea Region and will have two new main characters.
In fact, it sounds like Ash's story will make a big time jump and that one of the two new characters is Ash's child. Nothing has been officially confirmed at the moment. All of the above is happening in Japan. As for America or our parts, the new episodes of Ash will arrive later, but probably in 2023.
For the record, Ash Ketchum became the best Pokémon trainer in the world a few weeks ago after many years. We still don't know what the special 11 episodes will include, so stay tuned for anything new.
